Our Mission
For Magic: The Gathering players—especially Commander (EDH) players—keeping paper decks in sync with online decklists is notoriously tedious. With 100 singleton cards per deck, even a minor upgrade of 4 or 5 cards often forces players to sort through their entire deck box, re-count cards, and accidentally mess up mana ratios.
Moxfield Diff was built to solve this exact problem. By comparing your current Moxfield decklist against a specific point in time, our engine generates an exact checklist of which cards to remove and which cards to add, saving you from sorting through all 100 cards.
How It Works Under the Hood
Unlike simple list-comparison tools that require you to manually save and paste old versions of your text files, Moxfield Diff leverages Moxfield's revision history architecture:
- Timestamp Snapshot Engine: When you provide your deck URL and the date of your last physical deck update, our backend inspects the chronological commit history of your deck on Moxfield.
- Exact Card Quantities & Types: We compute the exact delta between the historical snapshot on your specified date and the current live decklist. Whether a card was moved from the sideboard, swapped for an alternate printing, or modified in quantity, the diff engine calculates the net change.
- Scryfall Integration: To make physical searching as fast as possible, each card is enriched with mana cost symbols and Scryfall card imagery so you can instantly verify artwork and type lines.
- One-Click Scryfall Search & Proxy Queries: You can export your removal list directly into a Scryfall search query or copy your addition list formatted for MTGPrint.
